Hi, I’m Pete – the founder of Sitecrafter, and the person you’ll be working with from start to finish. I’m a freelance web designer based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, and I specialise in crafting ethical, accessible, and sustainable websites for startups and small businesses.
I started Sitecrafter to offer something different from the typical agency model – a more personal, transparent and values-led approach to web design. When you work with me, you’re not passed from one department to another. I’ll be your designer, developer, project manager, and main point of contact throughout – and I’ll speak your language, not bury you in jargon.
My Background & Experience
I’ve been designing and building websites professionally for over a decade, with a strong focus on WordPress and WooCommerce. Before that, I worked in publishing and design – so I bring a solid mix of technical knowledge and creative thinking to every project. I understand how to structure content, write clearly, and design for people – not just pixels.
Over the years, I’ve worked with clients from all walks of life – from independent shops and creative studios to ethical brands, community groups and professional service providers. I’ve also got experience building ecommerce sites, booking systems, and knowledge bases, always with usability and performance in mind.
What Makes Me Different
What really sets Sitecrafter apart is the way I work and the values I bring to the table. I believe in building websites that respect your users’ time, privacy and needs. I care about clean code, fast load times, inclusive design, and long-term value – not flashy gimmicks or vanity metrics.
I also understand the realities of running a small business. That means flexible pricing, honest advice, and ongoing support that doesn’t disappear after launch. I’ll help you make informed choices about your website, your content, and your digital tools – so you feel confident, not overwhelmed.
