1. Let’s Chat: Every client relationship begins with a conversation. Whether you fill out our contact form or hop on a call, the first step is us listening. We want to hear about your business, your challenges, and what you’re aiming to achieve. This is also where we determine if Kick Point is the right fit for your needs. If we’re not the best agency for what you’re looking for, we’ll say so—no hard feelings, no salesy push. Assuming we are a fit, we move to the next step.
2. Discovery: Next, we roll up our sleeves and dig in in our Discovery process. Unlike many agencies that might skip straight to a strategic proposal, we take time to truly understand your situation before recommending a long-term plan. Discovery is a standalone, paid engagement where our team of specialists audits and researches everything about your digital presence. We’ll ask you a ton of questions (some clients have called it “intense” or even existential) to uncover what’s working, what’s broken, and where the opportunities are.
Each member of our team dives into their area of expertise to evaluate your brand across countless touchpoints. We review your website’s health, analytics configuration, ad campaigns, search rankings, competitor landscape, and more. This thorough health check gives us the full picture of where you stand.
After this deep dive, we compile our findings and meet with you to walk through what we learned. You’ll get a candid assessment of your marketing strengths and weaknesses, and we’ll start sketching out a high-level game plan. Crucially, Discovery also helps us define your goals in concrete terms (often in ways you might not have considered). By the end of this phase, you’ll have clarity on what your priorities should be and why.
3. Strategic Roadmap & Plan: Once discovery is complete, we present you with a customized, strategic plan for achieving your goals.
Often, this plan prioritizes one-time fixes that will ensure you have a solid foundation before we encourage you to invest in paid advertising efforts. If you have major technical SEO or website UX issues, we tackle those first. There will also be a number of areas where we need to invest more time into research: more deeply understanding your competitors, doing comprehensive keyword research, building an Analytics and Reporting plan that will provide you with tangible and actionable insights.
How fast we move through our recommendations depends on your budget, your appetite for change, and how quickly you can get us feedback on deliverables.
Here’s the twist: we will always recommend what we believe is truly best for you, even if that recommendation is “you don’t need us for this next part.” If after Discovery we determine that you’d be better served by hiring a specialist in-house, or using another provider for a certain service, we’ll tell you, straight up. Our aim is to set you on the right path, not to upsell a long-term contract. If our roadmap suggests a plan that you can execute without us, we’re happy to see you take the reins.
In most cases, clients choose to continue with Kick Point for implementation (after all, by now we know your business well and you know us!). If you decide to move forward with us, we’ll agree on the project scope or ongoing retainer details (month-to-month, of course) and get to work.
4. Implementation: Now the fun part: executing your customized strategy to meet your goals. Depending on the plan, this could mean designing and developing a new high-converting website, rolling out SEO optimizations and new content, launching and managing PPC campaigns. This is usually a combination of several efforts. The experts who did your Discovery work will be the team members working on your plan, or they’ll complete a really thorough handoff to another expert on our team. You’ll meet them and continue to be involved as much as you like.
We set up a project management system that fits the project’s scope (no unnecessary red tape) and assign a dedicated project leader to keep everything on track. As work gets underway, expect regular updates and check-in meetings (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly based on what makes sense). We love collaborative clients, so you’re welcome to provide feedback at every stage. After all, it’s your business, and your insight is invaluable.
5. Long-Term Partnership or Happy Handoff: After we’ve executed the initial strategy, one of two things usually happens. Often, our clients continue working with us in an ongoing partnership. There’s always more we can optimize, new campaigns to launch, or fresh data to analyze. In an ongoing relationship, we act as your marketing partner. We’ll continuously refine strategy, launch new initiatives, and keep you in-step with changes to the digital world (hello, AI!)
There are no long-term contracts locking you in. We earn your business every month with results and transparency. You can scale the engagement up, down, or pause anytime, based on your needs. And no matter how long we work together, you’ll always know exactly where your marketing stands, thanks to our regular reports and calls.
Some clients, on the other hand, have an internal team who could readily execute everything we recommended with some training and support. We have a number of clients who invested in their team over months of in-depth training, then reduced their partnership with us to the occasional coaching call.
Regardless of the path you choose, we don’t disappear after the project. Think of us as your on-call marketing friends: even if we’re not actively working on a project together, we’re rooting for you. And if down the road you need further help, a new challenge arises, or you want to tackle the next big marketing goal, we’ll be here, ready to dive in again.
